Circular Showcase: 2DaLoop

Founded by George Mitri and Miguel Ortiz, Detroit-based 2DaLoop is focused on solving one of the biggest operational bottlenecks across material recovery environments: fragmented triage and collection workflows.
Across many operations, critical decisions around identification, grading, routing and reporting are still heavily dependent on manual processes, spreadsheets and disconnected systems. The result is slower throughput, inconsistent datasets and growing pressure from OEMs demanding stronger visibility across take-back and recovery programs.
Turning fragmented workflows into structured operational data
2DaLoop has built a recycler-first platform designed to standardise these workflows into a single operational system of record. The company’s technology helps operators capture, validate and route material data in real time, reducing triage and reporting decisions from minutes to seconds while improving downstream visibility for OEM and enterprise partners.
Rather than forcing recyclers into rigid enterprise deployments, 2DaLoop positions itself as a flexible operational layer capable of supporting both spreadsheet-based operators and advanced ERP-driven facilities. The platform follows a hardware-agnostic approach, integrating across web, mobile, tablet and wearable environments without requiring organisations to overhaul existing infrastructure.
The philosophy behind the platform is straightforward: recyclers should be focused on processing material and scaling operations, not losing hours to manual data entry and fragmented reporting workflows.
Why the timing matters
As OEM take-back initiatives, regulatory scrutiny and circular supply chain reporting requirements continue to increase globally, recyclers are facing growing pressure to provide faster, more accurate and more transparent operational datasets without increasing administrative overhead.
2DaLoop completed more than 30 operational pilots and case studies during 2025, with participating organisations improving collection and triage speed and accuracy by more than 90% versus traditional workflows. The business has since secured partnerships across multiple OEM product verticals while expanding engagement with industry associations and ecosystem partners.
Scaling the platform for broader deployment
The company recently closed a $500,000 funding round to support continued platform deployment and product development, alongside completing ISO 27001 and ISO 14001 certifications as part of a compliance-first development strategy. Additional milestones include acceptance into the Google for Startups programme and receiving the Harvest Grant through EGLE and the U.S. Department of Energy.
Looking ahead, 2DaLoop is preparing expanded mobile and tablet deployments in Q2, followed by augmented reality-enabled wearable integrations later in 2026 as it continues building toward its longer-term vision of becoming the digital infrastructure layer connecting recyclers, manufacturers and circular supply chains.
Want to learn more?
If your organisation is struggling with fragmented triage workflows, inconsistent operational data or increasing OEM reporting requirements, 2DaLoop is looking to partner with recyclers, circular supply chain operators and OEMs exploring smarter ways to scale recovery operations.
